Who we are
Architectural Shine, operating as Architectural Shine Mobile Wash, based in Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario. Questions about your information go to privacy@architecturalshine.ca, or call or text (519) 429-3345.
As a business in Ontario, we follow Canada's private-sector privacy law, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). In plain words: we collect only what we need, say why, keep it safe, and let you see, fix or delete it.
What the booking form collects, and why
When you send a request on our booking form, it collects what you fill in:
- your name, your farm's name if you give it, and your nearest town;
- your mobile number, the way you'd like us to reach you and, if you give one, your email;
- what needs washing, when it suits you, dates to avoid, and any notes;
- the extras you choose: a repeat booking, talking to a farm we've worked for, who referred you and how you heard about us;
- if you came from one of our links, which link it was (for example, from Plan your season).
We use it to get back to you, agree a day and a price, and do the job. We don't sell it, rent it or use it for advertising, and we only contact you about your request.
How your request reaches us
When you press Send, the website checks the form and emails your request to our business inbox. That's all it does with it: the website doesn't keep a copy, and there's no database of requests.
If you text or call us instead, your request is on our phone, the same as any other text or call.
Stopping spam
The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not a bot, is sending it. Turnstile looks at signals from your browser and your internet address; usually it runs on its own, and sometimes it asks you to tick a box. The website also uses your internet address to limit how many requests one address can send in a minute. Your internet address isn't added to your request or to the email we receive.
Who handles it
- Cloudflare runs this website, checks the form for spam and sends your request on to us by email. Like any web host, it handles your internet address to deliver the site and may keep it in short-lived security and service logs.
- Google (Gmail) holds our business inbox, where your request arrives.
Both may process and store information outside Canada, including in the United States, where the law there can give authorities access to it.
Our own records on the website say whether a request went through, never your name, phone number, email or notes.
How long we keep it
Your request stays in our inbox while we need it to answer you, plan the job and keep a record of the work we've done for you. We delete requests we don't need.
Cookies
We set no cookies of our own, and our visitor counts (Cloudflare Web Analytics) use none. On the booking page, Cloudflare Turnstile may set one strictly necessary security cookie, cf_clearance, which shows it has already checked your browser.
Photos and farm stories
Our photos and stories give the town or county at most, never a farm's address, and we name a farm or a person only with their OK.
Seeing, fixing or deleting your information
Email privacy@architecturalshine.ca or call or text us to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have your request deleted from our inbox. We'll answer within 30 days.
Complaints
If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
